The play opens in an empty, freshly painted apartment. Corie and Paul Bratter, married only 6 days ago, are moving into their first apartment, on the fifth floor of an old New York brownstone. It soon becomes clear that there are several problems! There seems to be no heat (and it's February!), and there's also a hole in the skylight, and the weather report predicts snow! And that's just the tip of the iceberg!

This play is a hilarious spoof of newlyweds, moving into their first apartment. It plays on the reactions and interplay between the young couple, the Mother-in-law, and the 'crazy' neighbor that lives in the attic of their apartment building in New York City.
The script was so good it was made into a movie back in the 60's, but the humor still holds true today.
